Whilst the Super 6 competition starts in August 2019, it is desirable to have the new Head Coach in post by 1st January 2019.

Boroughmuir sees participating in the SUPER6 tournament as fitting with our core values - striving for rugby excellence, a strong club identity, progressive community relations and financial sustainability. The Head Coach is a key appointment, offering an exciting opportunity to shape Boroughmuir’s new era. With 2019-20 also being the club’s centenary year, the Head coach role is a fantastic opportunity to benefit from the support and enthusiasm of a focused and inclusive club.

The successful candidate will:

Lead, motivate, and create a winning culture, spread across the whole club

Manage a team of coaches and support staff

Develop individual and team skills to improve standards across the playing group

Manage the allocated budget and lead player contract negotiations

Act as a figurehead to the team's role within the community, further developing established links and paartnerships with local schools and Edinburgh Napier University.

The role requires strong motivational and leadership skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will understand the requirements of running a part-time professional rugby team and be flexible to change. You will demonstrate a successful track record of performance coaching at a high level within rugby and/or a relevant experience of the game at the highest level. Applicants must either have a UKCC Level 4, be currently be working towards this or commit fully to achieving this by attending the next available course.
