The 1st XV made the long trip across to the West Coast to face Ayr.
Naming a strong team, Boroughmuir had every intention to come away with the win. It took until the 2nd quarter where Boroughmuir really showed they had the power over Ayr in the forwards. There was something that just came together so well for the front 8, a real hunger and drive to dominate the opposition.
What was a marked improvement from the whole team was the common belief and trust within each other.
Boroughmuir would have been disappointed with some of the soft scores Ayr were getting over them, maybe a little more concentration might of made the difference.
‘Loosing’ Bonus points (finishing within 7 points of the winner) won’t keep Boroughmuir out of the danger zone but maybe with the home advantage and support from our mad supporters, we think this week’s game will be one not to miss.
