Haddington 0 - Boroughmuir 21
Scheduling games over the Christmas period is never a popular choice as it detracts from the quality of rugby, time the players and officials should be spending with their family and as a result of the feedback to the SRU will most likely mean a change in the League and Cup format for next season..again.
Regardless, both teams were able to pull together teams to fulfil this fixture.
In a game where both teams struggled to get into any rhythm, it was Haddington that felt more comfortable in the conditions. Both teams wanting the pace of the game to reflect the running options available, but simple handling errors kept a lid on any expansive play.
It was not till the 2nd half did Muir look in control of a match which made the best of the situation.
Haddington proving their development programme will continue to show the fruits of its labour with a number of their young performers taking to these Premiership Teams in the Edinburgh Regional Cup like ducks to water.
Boroughmuir will want to focus their strongest selection on next week’s game against high flyers, Gala. The game will be at Meggetland with a 3pm Kick Off, lets see all the Muir Support down there
