Quarter-final of the U18 Brewin Dolphin National competition
For the first 20 minutes the contest was relatively even with neither side able to penetrate the other's defences, but some indiscipline by Boroughmuir/JGHS allowed Kelvinside Academy a good field position from which they scored.
With better clinical finishing, Kelvinside Academy scored two further tries before half-time.
Boroughmuir/JGHS started the second half with renewed energy and centre Harry Smith scored a good try, converted by Grant Burberry. However an individual effort by Kelvinside's right winger saw him run in from the halfway line and this effectively decided the match.
Thereafter the game became very loose with Kelvinside scoring two more tries to Boroughmuir's one.
Some positives performances coming from Boroughmuir and John Gillespie, something the Coaches are keen to build upon.
