The Edinburgh Stage of the GB 7s Rugby was held at the Boroughmuir Rugby, Meggetland grounds over the weekend.
This is the first time this stage of the GB 7s Rugby has been held at Meggetland and we hope it won’t be the last. The GB 7s Rugby was part of the Edinburgh 7s Festival where Boroughmuir Rugby helped deliver a fantastic day.
The standard of rugby was excellent with spectators treated to ‘international’ standards of 7s rugby. Samurai and Wailers contested the action packed final, with Samurai coming from behind to score the winning points well after the final whistle.
All teams in the GB7s Rugby competition gave the Meggetland crowds some fantastic entertainment and display of 7s skills.
The GB7s Rugby Management commented during the weekend, how great the facilities at Meggetland are and would be keen to come back again next year!
See the action from the finals on SKY SPORT 3 THURSDAY at 8PM.
Not to be out done with all the action of the GB7s Rugby, our own Boroughmuir 7s Team were in action, competing in some of the hottest and hardest conditions seen at Meggetland.
Our guys played with great dedication throughout the weekend, something Coach Bruce Aitchison will be pleased to see during the off season. Boroughmuir Rugby taking 3rd place overall with the Crusaders winning the Edinburgh 7s Festival Title.
