Boroughmuir S1 - 34 : 3 Lasswade S1 (51 : 3 - after Development Period)
The first period saw Muir having most of the territory and with the wind at our backs made the most of the pressure. After some sustained pressure the first try eventually came and then the second after some determined running from the Muir scrum half who wanted to score against his previous club. Some great defence and a few mistakes from Muir when tries looked on ended the first period with Muir leading by 4 tries to nil (16-0)
The second period was much of the same with Muir playing well in to the wind and continuing how they played in the first period. Strong running and passing allowed Muir to get beyond the gain line to set up a few more tries. Muir's ability to evade some of the tackles and to get the ball out to the quick backline was the main difference throughout the game. Lasswade did managed to get on the scoreboard with the last play of the period with a well worked move round the blindside to score in the corner. (34 - 3)
The Development Period saw Muir again in the Lasswade half and after another few tries the referee brought the game to an end. The Muir support play and passing was good for most of the game and we just need to work on some decision making at crucial times, when a try was on. Another strong period saw Muir score a further 5 tries. (51 - 3)
Credit to Lasswade who played the game in great spirit, with real commitment and for never giving up right to the end of the game. They made Muir work very hard for their tries and with a good overall performance we look forward to welcoming Gala RT at Meggetland next Sunday.
