Boroughmuir's 7s season got underway this weekend with the club being represented at Haddington with two teams on Saturday and Gala on the Sunday.
Early rounds at Haddington went as expected until the quarter-final were Boroughmuir Rugby faced the Boroughmuir Bears! In a hard fought game, it was the Bears that took advantage of their early scores, leading to the end with a 24-15 win.
The Bears going onto the next round to face top seeds, Watsonians in the semi-final only to go down. 21-5.
On Sunday the 3rd, one Muir team travelled to Gala 7s in what was going to be a good test in the build up to Melrose. Boroughmuir seeing off Kelso in the pool 31-26 but losing to Glasgow with a respectable 26-35 score. Next game was against Edinburgh Rugby in the Bowl semi-final where Boroughmuir's day ended.
The weekend would of been a good build up for the important Melrose 7s on the 9th!
